Tree Work & Surgery FAQs
Everything you need to know before getting in touch
Do I need permission to cut down a tree?
If your tree has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or is in a Conservation Area, you must apply to your local council before carrying out any work. For trees without protections, no permission is generally needed. We can advise you on this and check TPO status before any work begins.
How much does tree surgery cost?
Simple crown lifting or pruning on a small tree might cost £150–£350. Larger trees requiring more complex work, or full felling and stump removal, typically range from £400 to £1,500+. We provide free, detailed quotes after assessing each tree in person.
Can you remove a tree stump?
Yes, we offer stump grinding as part of our tree work service. Stump grinding removes the stump below ground level so the area can be re-turfed or paved over. It is far quicker and less disruptive than traditional stump removal by excavation.
