Do I need planning permission for decking?
In most cases you don't need planning permission for decking below 30cm in height and covering no more than 50% of your garden. Raised decking or decking near a boundary may require permission. We can advise during your free estimate.
Which is better: timber or composite decking?
Both have their merits. Timber is less expensive upfront and gives a natural look but requires annual maintenance (staining/oiling). Composite is more expensive initially but requires very little maintenance and is extremely durable. We install both and can help you choose.
How long does decking installation take?
A straightforward deck of average size (20–30m²) typically takes 2–4 days to install. More complex designs with multiple levels or built-in features may take longer. We will give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
